To remedy your disappointment, take a shot of homemade moonshine then a Mountain Dew chaser like my cousins in the hills of Virginia taught me.

I consider it a success any time a small boat gets back to the ramp under its own power, so well done.

For reals, this was actually the entire point of headed out, to make sure we could get back. I had my doubts. Brought an oar and a radio.

Utah Lake? Pretty sure this is Timpanogos, but it looks backwards to me. I lived in Heber for a winter while working at PCMR.

Utah lake, yes. It would look backwards to you since you would see her from the other side.

It's weird because it looked like it, but was off enough that I wasn't sure. Kind of how your face looks funny to you in pictures because you're used to seeing it in a mirror.

It'll be a while before my boat hits the water. Saturday I saw guys practicing ice rescue on the lake here. Not sure if Coast Guard or Sheriff/local, but they were definitely geared up right with high vis helmets & flotation devices and I'm sure dry suits or survival suits. Even with full gear I wouldn't have wanted to be them, 32 degrees is cold water and they were definitely at risk of going in. One guy was so close to the edge of the ice you wouldn't think someone could get that far out without going through.
